I'm back! After an unintentional hiatus from the blog, about 60 pages of papers, and 5 projects later, I think I'm here to stay (for the next few weeks, at least!).
The temperature has been fluctuating quite a bit down here, and today was a chilly one. I piled on the layers and braved the cold to make it to work and my last Thursday class of the semester! Hooray!
Here's to hoping I'll make it back soon.

Never underestimate the power of a dress.
A casual, printed, flowy, non-wrinkleable, dress.
I've worn this dress a few times before, but this was the first time it was captured through a lens. I love how it can transform itself from an airy look into a darker look simply with the addition of tights and tall boots.
I felt very "me" in this outfit, even though I wouldn't classify myself as having a bohemian style. It's nice to have some of those unexpected power pieces in your closet, like a secret arsenal to cheer you up when you're feeling blue.

Happy Election Day, everyone! No matter which party you're supporting, I hope you went out and voted. It's an empowering feeling, casting your vote, and I am proud to sport my stars and stripes on this day.
P.S. Instagram now has a website! You can check out all my pics here.

I love this quirky print! It's supposed to be a shirtdress, but the bottom half of the buttons pulled too much when they were closed. My solution was to take a skirt and wear it underneath, leaving the bottom buttons open and making the dress look more like a coat/smock/robe.
Matching tights completed the look and made for a perfect addition on this cold and rainy day.

This week has been incredibly busy, so its only appropriate that I wear my squirrel eating a nut sweater, because I feel like I've been living in a nut house! (See what I did there?) Thankfully fall break is coming up and I will get FOUR whole days off in a row! I'm splitting the time between Nick's family's house and camping at Turkey Run with my parents. I can't wait!

My modern interpretation of a classic western style. I love how each piece plays off of the other in this look. Knot in the skirt, knotted scarf. Tortoise shell sunglasses, red shirt. Denim jacket, fringed boots. The only downside was that the boots gave me blisters after wearing them around campus all day. But hey, that won't stop me from wearing them again!

I love purple, red, and pink together. It's like an ode to Valentine's Day that can be worn anytime of the year. Throw on some fringe booties and colored tights and you're prepared for fall's gusty winds!

This is the look that results from freezing cold weather, lack of time to get ready, and all of my jeans still soaking wet from the wash last night. Not too bad, huh?
I have been so busy and frazzled lately - I even lost my debit card in the library today and didn't know it. Thank you to the whoever found it and turned it in! :) Sending good karma to you!
