Oh my goodness, it is HOT! It finally feels like summer out there, which I love! I spent the breaks between classes today reading outside by Frog Baby and getting some sun.  It felt fantastic.

I changed my outfit about five times this morning before I finally settled on this one.  This is my only pair of shorts I own that truly fits me and that I feel comfortable in (aka, I'm covered without being too conservative).  This has been a problem ever since I gained some weight from college, and for the past few summers, I've been at a loss with how to dress myself.  Most of the shorts and skirts I find are micro mini, which is an instant no, but I don't want to totally cover myself up either.  It's hard to find the happy medium.

These shorts have a higher waist, which I like, and I can wear them with the confidence that my booty won't be hanging out of the back!   I am on the lookout for some cute, affordable shorts that are made to fit a young woman, while trying to veer away from the teenage look.  Is anyone else going through this?  Where do you find the best summer clothes?

Durango, Colorado

Nick and I spent 6 days at my aunt and uncle's place in Durango, Colorado for spring break last week - and we LOVED it!  We passed the time wandering the little shops and places to eat downtown, skiing and snowboarding in the mountains, and visiting tourist attractions.  We hung out with my cousin snow-shoeing under the moon and letting loose at a tiny bar by the ski lodge.  Durango is breathtakingly beautiful and a great destination for anyone who wants to relax, spend some time outdoors, and participate in a few extreme sports.  We made some great memories while we were there, and we can't wait to go back (hopefully) this summer!

I'm back! Nick and I had a fantastic time staying at my aunt and uncle's place in Durango, CO (pictures and info coming soon!) and warm weather awaited us upon returning to IN.  Spring is in the air and I couldn't be happier.

My mom and I went shopping this past weekend and we both picked up a pair of these jeans from the LC Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl's.  I. LOVE. THESE. JEANS.  They fit perfectly, and they're comfy enough to last all day.  Everyone should run out and get a pair - you won't regret it.

My favorite part of this outfit is my statement ring I got while I was in Durango.  I spotted it at a small shop downtown the first day we were there, and I just couldn't leave without it.  It's made of real turquoise and sterling silver by a local jewelry artist.  It was an investment, but it's a beautiful reminder of the memories we had and a great accessory to essentially any outfit.  I'm hoping the pyramid power will help me as I study for my midterm in a few hours! Wish me luck!
